Score Jumper Balance Saddle Stool (Code A84)

OVERVIEW

The Score Jumper Balance is one of the most popular Score Saddle Stools for men. With a wider seat than the Amazone, the Jumper is more comfortable for a male shaped pelvis. In addition to the saddle shaped seat, the balance model incorporates a highly engineered spring in the top of the seat. Whilst this mechanism does make the stool feel softer to sit on, its primary function is to encourage users to gently move on the seat during the day with the aim of building better core muscles strength and endurance.

The Score Jumper Balance is easy to adjust for height using a simple lever, and it has a small footprint and light but sturdy construction which is perfect for small or crowded environments. The shape of the seat was originally inspired by a horseback rider’s saddle, which encourages an upright sitting posture by tilting the pelvis forward. By facilitating a more upright position, it is designed to relieve pain caused by poor posture and reduce the risk of back pain, neck pain and other musculoskeletal disorders. The Score Jumper stool has a standard 5-year guarantee on parts and 2-year guarantee on upholstery.

Are you getting the right stool for your needs?

When browsing our selection of products, you may find several that you want to purchase, but aren’t sure which Saddle Stool is right for you. If you want immediate answers to your questions you can call us right now on 0203 051 0157. We also have some useful resources to help guide you to the right stool below:

Size: The first factor you need to consider is size. There are two distinct models in our Score line: the Jumper and the Amazone. The Jumper has a wider saddle seat top and is better suited for men. The Amazone is more suitable for women.

Adjustability: A second consideration is the mechanism. A tilting mechanism enables you to use a lever to adjust the upright position of the saddle, encouraging your pelvis to tilt forwards which in turn encourages a more upright sitting posture. We have found this mechanism to be very successful with individuals who get pain when their back is flexed and are more comfortable in a more upright position. The alternative to the tilt mechanism is the balance mechanism which allows a small degree of movement in all directions while sitting on the stool. This mechanism has been inspired by swiss ball sitting and is designed to strengthen your core muscles during sitting.

Backrest: The last option to consider is whether or not you need a backrest for your stool. We have found that most dentists and other healthcare professionals are less likely to need or want a backrest. In contrast, backrests are commonly used by individuals who are using the stool at home or in a office. It is important to note that the backrest cannot currently be configured with the balance mechanism and so if you definitely want a backrest you will need to select a stool with a tilt adjustable seat.

Who uses Score Saddle Stools?

In the early days, Saddle stools were mainly used by health care professionals, such as dentists, doctors, and therapists who wanted to sit in a more upright position when working with patients, whilst also needing a highly manoeuvrable seat. As the concept of active sitting has become more commonly known, in the last 10 years there has been an explosive increase in the use of Score Saddle stools both in the home office and workplace office.

CORE OPTIONS

Gas Stem

The gas stem is the central strut that connects the base to the seat top and is the mechanism that enables you to adjust the height of the stool. There are three gas stem options which should be selected based on your height.

  • Low (Work surface height 70-80 cm)

  • Standard (Work surface height 80-90 cm)

  • High (Work surface height 90-100 cm)

Seat Mechanism

There are three mechanisms at the top of the score saddle stool.

  • Fixed Seat: The fixed seat is the mechanism that effectively holds the seat in a fixed position. The advantage of this type of mechanism is that it is the cheapest mechanism available. The disadvantage is that the stool does not enable much movement or tilting at the pelvis. For this reason, we don’t offer this option on the website.
  • Adjustable Seat: A tilting mechanism enables you to use a lever to adjust the upright position of the saddle. By tilting the saddle seat forwards you are able to put more weight through your feet and sit more upright. We have found this mechanism to be very successful with individuals who get pain when their back is flexed and are more comfortable in a more upright position.
  • Balance: The alternative to the tilt mechanism is the balance mechanism which allows a small degree of movement in all directions whilst sitting on the stool. This mechanism has been inspired by swiss ball sitting and is designed to strengthen your core muscles as they work to maintain the seat position.
